    Gaming with "little ones"

Hey everybody, I have some friends who would like to join us for some gaming sometime soon. They are a married couple who have a little boy who is, I think, like between one and two years old. I am doing some recon for them to determine what their best plan of action is to do for the wee one while they are gaming. They're only going to be at the same events that I go to so that means, of course, John's place, and also 5th Saturday gaming at Mike and Sally's. So, my question to you all is, would it be okay to bring the little tike to either of those locations or should they plan on getting a baby sitter for their gaming time. The advantage of them bringing him with them is that they can stay a little longer since they don't have to get home to reduce the cost of the baby sitter, but the down side can be the potential distraction of having a taddler at a games day. Please be honest and open as they want to come but they are totally understanding on any rules/polocies that we might want to lay down concerning children. Thanks and see you guys on Saturday!:-)

    Mark

Hey, Mark!  Thanks a lot for asking.  I can't speak for the fifth Saturday, of course, but I've always stuck with my game days being 'adults' only.  I'm generally willing to stetch to stretch the 'adult' term to include a mature late teen or to cover somebody like, say, Aalok, but that's about it.  Generally, I'm trying for as laid back an atmosphere as possible and kids bring another level of potential hecticness to things.  I realize there are some really well behaved young-uns, but I don't want to be in a spot of having to tell something that while some kids are allowed, their kids are little hellions.

I have, though, noticed occassional postings in my building of folks that watch kids, so it might be possible that they can have someone in the same building be watching their kids while they game.  If anyone is interested in that, I can look into it further, with the caveat that I'd only find out pricing and availability, any questions as to quality are up to the parents.

Hmmph, immature? Fine, if you're going to be like that, I'm going to throw a huge tantrum and cry all night.
